ANASTASIA (Youth Edition) - AUDITION INFORMATION:
Ages 8-18 | Casting: 20+ students
Audition Dates: August 11 & 12, 2025 | 5:00pm-8:30pm
Callback Date: Saturday August 16, 2025 | By invitation only: 9am-12pm
Location: First Congregational Church Basement, 111 Church St. Hartland, WI 53029 (Across the street from the Playhouse)
**If your student is interested, but unavailable for auditions they may submit a video audition by August 11 @ 8:30pm. Please sign up for a “video audition” slot on the Audition Signup Genius so we know to expect your video and have updated contact information. Audition requirements below.
**Please note: We are producing a full scale MainStage production of the same title. Youth ages 15+ may audition in July to be considered for the one young roles in that production but most youth will only be eligible for this Academy production. ABOUT THE SHOW:
From the twilight of the Russian Empire to the glamour of 1920s Paris, Anastasia is the sweeping Broadway musical that tells the epic story of a young woman’s journey to discover the mystery of her past and define her own future. Orphaned and alone, Anya sets out to unlock the secrets of her identity, pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer and aided by a charming conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. As she follows the whispers of her past, Anya must decide whether she’s ready to claim the destiny that might be hers. Filled with soaring ballads, dazzling choreography, and unforgettable characters, Anastasia is a breathtaking adventure about home, love, and the courage to find where you truly belong.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR A LIVE AUDITION:
Slate your full name, age, name of your character for your chosen monologue and name of your chosen song/show it is from.
Prepare a 1-minute monologue from a play or musical (does not need to be memorized, but is preferred). Download a monologue here —> if you do not already have one, but feel free to use your own.
Prepare 30-60 seconds of any musical theatre song in the style of the show; this will be sung acapella when auditioning.
HOW TO PREPARE A VIDEO AUDITION:
Follow the same steps as above in the “What to Prepare for a Live Audition” section. After you have completed your slate, monologue and song as described above please answer the following questions in your video:
What do you enjoy about theatre?
What skills are you looking to develop?

GENERAL AUDITION INFORMATION:
Students interested in being cast in a production workshop MUST AUDITION, either in-person or by submitting in a video.
Students cast, are placed by the directors in a production based on skill level, age, roles available and availability/conflicts.
Actors must be available for ALL TECH REHEARSALS (the week before performances) AND PERFORMANCES to be cast.
There is NO FEE to audition - Tuition will be assessed upon the acceptance of a role.
Auditions will take place in our Rehearsal Studios: 111 Church St. Hartland, WI 53029, 111 Church St. Hartland, WI 53029 (Across the street from the Playhouse)
Casting is usually complete within 2 weeks of the callback dates listed. Unfortunately, we cannot cast everyone who auditions - we WISH we could! Either way, everyone who auditions will be notified of casting decisions via email as soon as possible.
All Academy classes, workshops and auditions will take place in our Rehearsal Studios: 111 Church St. Hartland, WI 53029.
